This project showcases my extensive work on the Ford 9000 Series, a comprehensive collection meticulously modeled in Blender and optimized for game development. My goal was to capture the essence of these legendary American trucks, delivering highly versatile and game-ready assets.
For this series, I've sculpted multiple variants, including the robust Box Truck, the adaptable Tandem Single Axle, and the iconic LTL9000. A core focus was on historical accuracy and visual variety. To achieve this, I developed numerous hood and headlight configurations, allowing each truck to reflect different eras and specifications of the Ford 9000 Series. This modularity not only enhances realism but also provides developers with a wide array of options for diverse in-game scenarios.
Every model in this collection has been built from the ground up with game engines in mind. Key features include:
Clean Topology: Ensuring optimal performance and smooth deformations for animations.
Separated Meshes by Material: This crucial organizational choice allows for effortless material swapping, customization, and efficient implementation of PBR workflows within game engines.
Logical Hierarchy (Blender): Elements like doors and steering wheels are properly parented to 'empties,' simplifying rigging and animation setup for seamless in-game interaction.
Precise Alignment: Wheels and rims are perfectly aligned on the X and Y axes, guaranteeing flawless rotation in-engine.
While preserving historical accuracy, I've incorporated modern PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials. The focus here was on unaged textures for interior elements like carpets, seat leather, and door fabrics, as well as exterior details such as tire sidewalls. This approach delivers a clean, high-fidelity look that serves as an excellent base for various game environments, from pristine showrooms to weathered in-game settings.
This project highlights my proficiency in:
High-Poly Modeling & Optimization: Balancing intricate detail with game-ready poly counts.
Modular Asset Creation: Designing components for maximum reusability and variation.
PBR Texturing Workflows: Applying industry-standard material techniques for realistic rendering.
Game Asset Pipeline Understanding: Structuring models for efficient integration into game engines.
Attention to Detail: Capturing the unique characteristics of real-world vehicles.
